FB Events Cover page for FASO's 2016 Spring Social Event |
I was given the opportunity to do design for the FASO
(Filipino-American Association of Southern Ohio) Spring Social Event. This year is inspired by a Filipino-version of a Mardi Gras-like parade called "Sinulog" which originated from the island of Cebu in Visayan region of the Philippines. I really felt that this is an interesting subject to play around with using illustrator since patterns are an important key to make a believable parade-like feel to the graphic.--that's where illustrator's copy, past, duplicate features come in handy. I know that there's more i can do to play and add detail but i figured given the time constraint it's best to keep things simple but cohesive.

Adding Detail to sketch |
|
Scanned and imported sketch to Illustrator. Worked on the vector lines w
ithout paying much attention to color choices. |
|
Using Duplicate Key i repeated patterns to simplify process. |
|
Again utilizing scale, duplicates can add illusion of spatial depth |
